The 'Our future Chelmsford' conference was held on the 18th April 2006 at Anglia Ruskin University, and was a great success. Major providers of public services, key businesses, community groups and public bodies came together to discuss the vision for the future of Chelmsford borough for the next 15 years. It was supported by a range of organisations, including Chelmsford Environment Partnership, Essex Police, Essex Rural Community Council and Standard Life. The conference also had a 'green' theme with First Bus providing free bus passes and the conference packs were produced using recycled materials. The 160 delegates enjoyed inspiring presentations from Danny Crates, the 2004 Paralympic 800 metres T46 Champion, opinion researchers MORI, Chelmsford Primary Care Trust, the Council for Voluntary Service and Chelmsford Borough Council. There were also a range of working groups which gave delegates the chance to have their say on the future of Chelmsford.
